Healing and Discovery through Abstract Drawing
Posted in: Activities on Oct. 15th 2008

Abstract drawing can aid in mental relief by letting you engage directly with your creativity. You do not have to worry about perfect perspective or shading, but about creating shapes and using colors that are visually and mentally appealing to you. Abstract art definitely is life enriching and can be a great activity for all ages!
Simply grab some paper and start drawing from your heart. Do not worry about perfection, simply guide the pencil with your creativity. You will find that you may draw many of the same lines and shapes when doing this exercise over and over. I know for a fact that I tend to draw curvy pointed shapes and overlap them to express my inner self.
There are many forms of therapy, but if you are interested in bettering yourself, why not do it 100% natural. The human brain is mostly uncharted territory, why not let your brain help itself via creative visual expression, and steer clear from medications that may do more harm then good?
So go for it! Draw and don’t worry about the consequences. You will find that you enjoy it and hopefully return to this activity in the future helping you vent any emotion on paper.
